Wheaton Home Additions

If you are considering a home addition or room addition, know that it will be a big investment, but if you stick with a few simple guidelines it will pay off for you in the long run. First, unless you are never going to sell your home, you need to consider both your needs and the needs of potential buyers. Both style and function are important. Also, adding square footage to your home will almost always pay off, unless it’s at the expense of your lot size. Remember that if you build to the edge of your property lines you’re eliminating the opportunity for landscaping, patio space and kid’s play areas. Kitchen additions and bathroom additions are the most valuable types of home additions. However, going neutral with cabinet, tile and paint colors make it more attractive to potential clients when you do go to sell. The bottom line when it comes to home additions is to follow your heart and create the home of your dreams, but if you’re looking to cash in on those dreams at some point, these simple do’s and don’ts will allow you to get more value out of your home addition.

Wheaton Room Addition

We had Bradford and Kent do two projects for us including a room addition we will use for a study, and remodeling our kitchen and a nearby bathroom. We are very satisfied with how both projects turned out. From past experience I understood going in that home additions can be problematic at best. As anticipated we had our share of unexpected things happen during the project. Bradford and Kent was very good about working through the issues to our satisfaction. Louie was accessible and returned calls and texts quickly which isn’t always the norm.  All-in-all a good experience. We plan to use Bradford and Kent to remodel two other bathrooms in our house.

Wheaton Home Addition

We’ve had mixed experiences with contractors in the past, such that we were worried when we decided to do a home addition. Our neighbors have had positive experiences with Bradford and Kent, so we felt confident this would give us a leg up in selecting a reputable company. After reviewing the bids from three contractors for our kitchen addition, we selected Bradford and Kent for our project. They weren’t the least expensive, but the representative, Jim, sold us on the company’s design capability and quality of work. The construction manager was exceptional, but the real meat of any remodeling project is the workmanship – and by extension, the craftsmen who perform the work.  They did not disappoint. We love our home addition which included a remodeled kitchen.

Wheaton Home Addition – Master Suite

We are very pleased with the work Bradford and Kent did for us! They did a huge home addition which included a new master bedroom and bathroom. Jim first came out to the house to find out what we wanted done. He then put a plan together so we knew what to expect. The construction manager kept us informed as to what was to be done.  He answered all of our questions completely and to our satisfaction.  During construction, they discovered and fixed a water leak under the house and dangerous wiring in the kitchen that could have cost us thousands of dollars to get fixed. The construction team worked around our needs and schedule. The workers are skilled and experienced professionals. We are very happy with the completed project. If you are planning a home addition, call Bradford and Kent.
