Our clients bought this charming 1930s home from her grandparents. They loved the vintage feel, but wanted to make a few changes inside and out. First, they wanted to give the exterior a more polished feel and add a large porch on the back. Next, they wanted to expand and update the kitchen, family room, dining room and mudroom. The couple also wanted to put a bath on the first floor. When their major renovation was complete they added their own decorating style to make this home a stunning, one-of-a-kind masterpiece.
Exterior Makeover
Fabulous Front
The exterior of this home has been totally refreshed. Staining the brick a soft white, adding a stylish new front porch and the copper accents give it enhanced curb appeal. Our talented client made the copper porch light himself.
Show Stopping Back Porch
The entire back of the house was bumped out to allow for more room in the kitchen and a spacious new mudroom. The new exterior was clad in crisp, white James Hardie siding. A back porch was added with a two story vaulted ceiling, which can be used rain or shine. Our skilled clients built the outdoor fireplace themselves.
Fresh Open Kitchen
The old kitchen simply did not work for our clients. They felt that it was not as functional as it could be and it was too small for entertaining. Their goal was to keep the charm, but give it a fresh new look.
Mid-Century Vibe
They chose mid-century design elements to complete their vintage home. Entirely decorated by the couple, the first floor of this home could easily be featured on HGTV or in a magazine. Gifted with immeasurable talent, the couple created several pieces for their home like the built-in banquette, unique table and light fixtures. The use of bold wallpaper patterns and retro colors create a unique feel that is absolutely fantastic.
