This unique master bath was featured in the January issue of West Suburban Living magazine. It belongs to Downers Grove homeowners, Michael and Christine Brindza, who had very specific goals for their master bath remodel. First, they wanted to add some architectural interest through 45 degree angled walls, an unusual ceiling tray above the whirlpool tub and a large rounded shower.
Incorporating details of a bath they had seen on a Hawaiian vacation meant adding a tub that can be filled by a traditional faucet or by an overhead rain shower that looks like a waterfall. Because the Brindzas also enjoy long, luxurious showers we built a large, walk-in shower with multiple rain shower heads and body sprays. They maintain their spa experience by stepping out onto heated floors. An earthy, contemporary look is accomplished through espresso stained cherry cabinets and thin, glass tiles accents. To make sure the bath is not too dark, we added two large window to brighten the space.
“We go to our master bath to relax and it was important to us to get everything we wanted to be able to do just that. Our new bathroom really does remind us of our wonderful Hawaiian vacation with all of those decadent amenities,” said Christine.
